Now the speculation can end! Joe “Merk” Deluca, former captain of Optic Gaming has officially joined EnvyUs’ pro roster, filling in the open spot Jordan “JKap” Kaplan left when he was picked up by Optic. Both players are skilled anchor positions, and with the tail end of Black Ops 2 competitions quickly approaching, it will be interesting to see how both rival teams perform with the switch.
According to the EnvyUs web site, Merk will train with the team at their headquarters in North Carolina leading up to the major tournaments remaining in 2013. Currently the team is prepared to compete at Gfinity’s G2 in London October 12-13, UMG Dallas October 18-20, and MLG Columbus November 22-24.
